Advertisement Management for Wordpress MU
Note: This is a Wordpress MU plugin. If you’re looking for Advertisement Management for standalone Wordpress please take a look at this plugin.
Advertisement Management for WPMU is a small plugin giving you the opportunity to add advertisements all across your blognetwork directly form site administrator. Everything is just really simple – and almost everyone using WPMU would know how to add advertisements to all the blogs using Advertisement Management.
Advertisement Management for WPMU Features:
Advertisement Management for WPMU gives you a total of 8 different locations for your advertisements.
Adspot 1: Below post title on all blogs front page.
Adspot 2: Below the title when a post is open.
Adspot 3: Below post content when a post is open.
Adspot 4: Below title when a page is open.
Adspot 5: Below page content when a page is open.
Adspot 6: Below the commentboxes.
Adspot 7: Above all the headers.
Adspot 8: Below all the footers.
After activation of the plugin you have the opportunity to deactivate advertisements for the main blog by typing in it’s ID in the site admin area.
Installation of the plugin
- Download the plugin from here.
- Upload to your PLUGINS folder.
- Activate the plugin site wide with Plugin Commander. Also remember to auto activate for new blogs. More information about what Plugin Commander actually is can be found below.
- Now you have a new menu in your Site Admin menu called Advertisement Management. In this page you can put in all your advertisements, and also deactivate advertisements for the main blog if you want to.
- Now, your’re done. Good luck with your advertising.
If you followed all my steps above you should be good to go. The good part now is that if you want to disable advertisements for spesific blogs you can simply deactivate the plugin for the blogs where you don’t want advertisements to appear using Plugin Commander. You should NOT deactivate the plugin for the main blog. If you want to deactivate advertisements for the main blog you should use the option created for that inside the plugin page.

I’ve installed this on my wordpress MU and the problem is that I cannot change ads per MU site. So basically, I want to be able to control ad channel, colors, size etc. etc. for each site. Each MU site having different ads.
Installed the regular version and the MU version and both of them seem to do the exact same thing. I put the ad code in and it shows up across all blogs… the same ads. That’s not what I’m looking for as each MU site has different templates, colors, design, etc… not to mention different Niche.
Thanks a bunch for this great product. Please let me know how this can be resolved. Thanks!

@Sushi Supplies, – I see your problem, but I’m afraid you can’t use this plugin if you want individual ads for each blog. The plugin will give the same ads all across the network when using WPMU because it was created to be used on a site with thousands of blogs, and I figured it then would be bad to use individual ads for every blog.
The only difference between the MU-version and the standard Wordpress version is the possibillity to remove ads from the main blog in WPMU.
The plugin could absolutely be a bit improved, but for now (as WPMU no longer will be developed) I will not create any new version. I guess I’ll be waiting for Wordpress to have the mu-features before I do anything with the advertisement management plugin.
